Justin H. Wertman

Deputy General Counsel

Justin Wertman is a Deputy General Counsel and has been advising on financing transactions since 1997. Prior to joining Prospect, he was a partner in the Finance & Restructuring Group at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, where he practiced law for 14 years. At Morgan Lewis, Justin represented administrative agents, lenders, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers in connection with leveraged buy-outs, management buy-outs, revolving credit facilities, term loans, letter of credit transactions, asset-based loans, cash flow loans, first-lien and second-lien financings, mezzanine loans, subordinated loans, private placements, refinancing, workouts and restructurings. He has advised numerous private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in relation to both domestic and multi-jurisdictional leveraged acquisitions, add-on acquisitions, spin-offs, restructurings and exits. Justin is also an accomplished entertainment finance lawyer, having advised leading financial institutions in numerous financing transactions with producers, distributors and sales agents of motion picture, television, music and new media product.

Justin received his BA cum laude from Queens College. He also received his JD cum laude from Fordham University School of Law, where he served as a Staff Member and then an Editor on the Fordham Law Review.
